Pliers: what you get and how to choose

Heydake pliers cover four common jobs: gripping, twisting, cutting and pulling. The cutting edges are hardened to about HRC 60. They cut soft wire up to 4 mm and hard wire up to 2 mm. The two-layer grips are comfortable and do not slip.

Pliers: frequently asked questions

Can I use these pliers on live electrical wires?

No. The grips are comfortable, but these pliers are not VDE-rated for live circuits. For electrical work, use tools marked 1000 V VDE. These pliers are for mechanical, automotive and workshop jobs.

What wire can these pliers cut?

Soft wire up to about 4 mm, hard wire up to about 2 mm, plus copper and aluminium cable. Do not cut hardened steel, piano wire or live wires. That can chip the cutting edge.
