The cutting edges are induction-hardened to about HRC 60 and cleanly cut soft wire up to 4 mm, hard wire up to 2 mm, and copper/aluminum cables. They are not designed for hardened spring steel or piano wire.

The handles have a dual-layer slip-resistant comfort grip. They are NOT rated for live electrical work above 1000 V — for electrical work use VDE-rated tools. These pliers are intended for mechanical and general workshop use.
