Inside Heydake: From Raw Steel to a Tool You Can Trust

Quick answer: Heydake machines, molds, assembles and tests its hand tools on its own workshop floor — no contract manufacturing and no middlemen. Bit and cutting-edge hardness is measured on Rockwell testers against an HRC 58-62 target, dimensions are verified on laser inspection equipment, and steel grades (CR-V chrome vanadium, Cr-Mo for impact) are checked on arrival. A batch only ships once it passes. Shop the finished tools in screwdriver and bit sets, socket sets and saw blades.

Every Heydake tool starts the same way — as raw material on our own workshop floor. No middlemen, no mystery. We machine, mold, assemble, and test our tools in-house, so we know exactly what goes into every piece that ships to you.

Precision Machining — Where Accuracy Begins

Our CNC machining centers run day in and day out, cutting socket bodies, driver bits, and blade blanks from steel stock. Every pass is programmed, measured, and verified. This is where a tool either earns its tolerances — or doesn't make it further down the line.

Metal Forming — Consistent Part After Part

Automated forming lines shape raw metal into finished components: sockets, saw blades, fasteners, and more. What comes out of these machines is repeatable — the same geometry, the same edge, the same feel, part after part. That consistency is the backbone of a tool that works the way you expect it to, every time.

Injection Molding — The Grip You Feel

The soft-touch handle on your screwdriver starts as plastic pellets. Our injection molding machines form the housings and grips, and experienced operators run every cycle — checking each part as it comes out, catching anything that isn't right before it ever reaches your hands.

Skilled Machining — The Human Pass

Rough forming isn't the finish line. Skilled machinists complete critical components on CNC lathes, holding the tolerances that keep moving parts tight and mechanisms reliable. Machines do the heavy lifting; our people make sure it's done right.

Quality Control — We Measure Everything

Nothing ships without passing our checks. Hardness tests on our Rockwell testers, dimensional verification on laser inspection equipment — we measure, we record, and we only ship what passes. If a part doesn't meet spec, it doesn't leave the building.

What We Check Before a Tool Ships

What we check How we check it Why it matters to you
Bit and cutting-edge hardness Rockwell hardness testing against an HRC 58-62 target Tips hold their shape instead of rounding off mid-job
Dimensional accuracy Laser inspection of socket bores, shanks and hex profiles Sockets seat fully and will not slip on a tight bolt
Steel grade on arrival Incoming verification of CR-V chrome vanadium and Cr-Mo impact steel Steel that flexes under torque instead of cracking
Grip and handle fit Molding checks every cycle plus assembly torque testing Handles stay tight on the shank and do not spin under load
Finish and corrosion resistance Plating and visual inspection before packing Tools still work after a winter in a cold garage

Clean Floor, Clear Process

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Heydake tools made?

Every Heydake tool is machined, molded, assembled and tested on our own workshop floor rather than through outside contract manufacturers. US orders then ship from US warehouses with delivery in 3-7 business days.

How hard are Heydake driver bits and cutting edges?

Bits and cutting edges are induction hardened to an HRC 58-62 target and verified on Rockwell hardness testers before a batch is released. That hardness range keeps a bit tip from deforming under load while staying tough enough not to chip.

What steel does Heydake use?

CR-V chrome vanadium steel for driver bits, sockets, wrenches and cutting edges, and Cr-Mo chrome molybdenum steel for impact applications where sudden torque spikes would crack thinner chrome sockets. Handles use dual-material grips for slip resistance.

Does buying direct from the factory affect the price?

Yes, in your favour. Selling from our own factory floor to you removes distributor and marketplace markups, which is how a 121-piece magnetic screwdriver bit set or a 12-piece reciprocating saw blade set stays at a low price with a 2-year warranty.

Can I order a custom or OEM tool set?

Yes. Email support@heydake.com with the SKUs, sizes and quantities you need and our US-China team will quote bulk and trade pricing, including custom set contents and OEM packaging under your own brand.
